The course is designed by golf architects Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw and has become one of Pinehurst's most popular attractions. As Golf Channel calls it, the Cradle is “the most fun 10 acres in all of golf”.

For accommodation, The Carolina Hotel is the most popular choice. The resort offers elegant rooms, suites, and villas, all of which are beautifully decorated and equipped with modern amenities. The resort also has several restaurants, bars, and lounges where you can meet other golfers for a cold beer. The Carolina, located inside the hotel, is an upscale restaurant that serves Southern-inspired cuisine. The Ryder Cup Lounge is a casual sports bar that offers an extensive selection of craft beers and pub-style food. If you prefer more privacy, you can opt for a vacation rental or a bed and breakfast in the surrounding area. However, Pinehurst offers packages that are more rewarding if you stay on site.
